Copyright & Ownership
Understand copyright, ownership, and intellectual property rights for AI-generated audio content
Overview
When you generate content with Wubble, you own the copyright to that content, subject to your license terms. This gives you legal protection, exclusive rights, and the ability to control how your content is used.
You Own Your Content
Content you generate belongs to you. Wubble retains no ownership rights or claims to your generated content beyond what's necessary to provide the service.
Ownership Rights
Copyright Ownership
You are the copyright owner of all AI-generated content you create through Wubble. This gives you exclusive rights to reproduce, distribute, perform, display, and create derivative works.
Perpetual Rights
Your copyright ownership is perpetual. Even if you cancel your Wubble subscription, you retain full ownership of all previously generated content.
Exclusive Rights
Your ownership is exclusive within your license tier. No one else can claim copyright to content you generated, and Wubble cannot license your specific generated content to others.
What Wubble Retains
Wubble retains minimal rights necessary to operate the service. We do not claim ownership of your generated content.
Service Operation Rights
Wubble retains the right to process, store, and deliver your content as necessary to provide the service. This includes temporary caching, backup storage, and transmission.
Technology & Model Rights
Wubble owns the AI models, algorithms, and technology used to generate content. You own the output, but Wubble owns the generative technology itself.
No Content Claims
Wubble does not claim copyright, ownership, or exclusive rights to your generated content. We cannot use your specific generated content for our own purposes without permission.
Copyright Registration
While copyright protection is automatic, you can register your generated content with copyright offices for additional legal benefits.
Automatic Protection
Copyright protection begins automatically when content is created. You don't need to register to have copyright protection for your generated audio.
Registration Benefits
Registering with copyright offices (like the U.S. Copyright Office) provides additional benefits:
- • Public record of ownership
- • Ability to sue for infringement
- • Eligibility for statutory damages
- • Stronger legal position
How to Register AI-Generated Content
When registering AI-generated content, disclose that AI was used in the creation process. Focus on your creative contributions: prompt crafting, editing, arrangement, and production decisions.
Derivative Works
You can create derivative works from your generated content, incorporating it into larger projects and transforming it as needed.
Modification Rights
Edit, remix, and transform your generated audio as you wish. Your ownership extends to modified versions and derivatives you create.
Integration Rights
Incorporate generated audio into larger works: videos, games, apps, multimedia projects. You own the resulting derivative work.
Combination with Other Content
Mix generated audio with other audio, human performances, or existing music. The copyright to the AI-generated portions remains yours.
Transferability & Sublicensing
Your ability to transfer copyright or grant sublicenses depends on your license tier.
Personal Tier
- • Own the copyright
- • Cannot transfer
- • Cannot sublicense
- • Non-commercial only
Commercial Tier
- • Own the copyright
- • Can transfer to clients
- • Limited sublicensing
- • Full commercial use
Enterprise Tier
- • Own the copyright
- • Full transfer rights
- • Sublicensing allowed
- • Custom terms available
Best Practices
Document Your Ownership
Keep records of when content was generated, including license IDs and generation dates. This proves ownership if disputes arise.
Consider Registration for Valuable Works
For commercially valuable content, consider copyright registration. It strengthens your legal position and provides additional remedies for infringement.
Respect Third-Party Rights
While you own the AI-generated content, don't create content that infringes on others' copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights.
Use Proper Contracts for Client Work
When delivering content to clients, use clear contracts specifying copyright transfer or licensing terms. This protects both you and your clients.
